How to create product attributes and their values

On the "Products" - "Attributes" page, you have the ability to create and configure product attributes, their values, and attribute groups.

To create a new attribute, click "Add" in the "Product Options" tab. You can specify the attribute type, which will be discussed later in the article, choose whether to show your attribute in the filter so that customers can filter products in your store by different values of this attribute. If you want the attributes of a product to be displayed when hovering over it in the list, enable the "Show in product listing" switch.

If your rental package includes the "Different colors of the product" module, you can upload different images for different attribute values in the product card. If this attribute has a type that allows switching between attribute values on the product page (for example, "Dropdown"), and if the "Change product image" switch is enabled, the image of the product will change when a specific attribute value is selected on the product page.

To create values for your attributes, go to the "Option Values" tab and, similarly, click "Add". In the drop-down list "Option Name", select the attribute for which you are creating a value, specify this value and, if desired, add an image for it. The image will be visible on the product page if the attribute has an "Image" or "List with Images" type.

Attribute Types

The "Text" attribute type means that the attribute and its values will be displayed as plain text on the product card, as shown in the photo for the "Size" attribute.

The "Dropdown" attribute type means that it will be possible to switch between attribute values, and it will appear on the product card as shown in the photo for the "Color" attribute.

The "Radio" attribute type also implies that it will be possible to switch between attribute values, but it will look like this:

The "Image" attribute type will allow users to see images of your values and switch between them:

The "List with Images" attribute type will allow users to see both the value, its price (since different prices for different values can be specified in the "Attributes" tab of the product card) and its image, and the attribute will appear on the product page like this:

Moreover, on this page, you have the ability to search by attributes and their values, set their sorting order, and delete them.
