How to connect Google Analytics

To start, you need to register in the service or log in.


Provide an account name that will help you navigate and find the account you need.


Enter the name of the resource, select the time zone and currency, click "Next".


You need to fill in the information about "Data streams": website URL and stream name, then click "create stream".


You will then receive a metric ID as well as instructions for adding a new tag to your site.
The metric ID is required for the tag in Google Tag Manager, and the global tag code itself (gtag.js) is required to add it directly to all pages required for tracking.
If you install the Google Analytics 4 code directly, copy it from the interface and paste it at the beginning of the <head> tag on each page you want to track:

Save changes.
You can check the data transfer in Google Analytics with the help of "Real-time report".


It allows you to find out how many people have been on your site in the last 30 minutes, and it is possible to detail the data by events / parameters for different event categories.

 

You can connect goals in Google Analytics:

- adding an item to the cart

- checkout page

- successful ordering

- call back button

In order to connect goals to Google Analytics, you need to go to "Admin" -> Goals and add goals, applying the exact name to them:

  • add_to_card
  • chechkout page
  • chechkout progress
  • call_button


Goal setting steps:

1. button "add to cart" (add_to_card)

-> custom

-> add_to_cart, Event

-> Action: add_to_cart

2. Checkout page - checkout page

-> custom

-> Checkout page, Destination

-> reular expression: checkout.php

3. Chechkout progress - successful purchase

-> custom

-> checkout_progress, Event

-> Action: checkout_progress

4. Button "call back" (call_button)

-> custom

-> call_button, Event

-> Action: call_button


After the goals are added, you need to go to the left column in the "Ecommerce Settings" item and enable:
